Why do I want to sit down with my “enemy”?

Because they are not really your enemies. Most are not really your competitors.

Circumstances vary, of course, but often the other association members compete for entirely different types of customers. They are big, you are small. They focus on the one area of town, you on another. They focus on one specific group of prospects about which you know nothing and would never pursue. They have the years in business that some prospects demand and you don’t (yet).

These are colleagues, and often will become friends.
Get involved in your state association and find your colleagues and friends.
