4.29.18 – cjonline.com – The Topeka Fire Department has asked city council members to consider fining businesses, apartment buildings and other facilities that see repeated false fire alarms due to poor maintenance or inspection.

Council members plan to discuss but take no action on the matter at their May 8 meeting, according to a document in the preliminary agenda packet for that meeting.

Wichita, Salina, Manhattan, Emporia, Overland Park and Leawood already assess fines for that reason, the document said.
